Map Tiles

A map tile is a square geographic region on a Spherical Mercator map identified by a Google Maps XYZ-coordinate or Bing Maps quadkey.

Single-Frame Map Tile

This provides a map tile from a product frame or forecast frame.

GET /frames/{frame-id}/tile/{z}/{x}/{y}
GET /frames/{frame-id}/tile/{quadkey}

Tile requests need a different Accept header than other requests. The header supports multiple media types and styles.

Accept: {media-type}; version=1
Accept: {media-type}; style={style-id}; version=1

Styles are not required and only affect pre-rendered image formats. The following formats are supported:
