APIs =================================== .. toctree:: `Insight API `_ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Weather Insight API was developed to meet the needs of data scientists and app developers within the Ag, Energy Trading and Water Resources industries. This API allows you to seamlessly query and interrogate historical and current weather data, as well as forecast data up to 10 days into the future. You may query by location or asset boundaries. Parameters in the API include: - Degree Days - Solar Radiation - Precipitation - Relative Humidity - Temperature - Dew Point - Wind Speed and Direction - Evapotranspiration - 7km Global 10 & 30 year climatology `Historical Hazards API `_ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WDT is the industry leader in creating and running automated algorithms to identify hazardous weather such as hail swaths, lightning and wind storms on behalf of insurers, roofing companies and more. Every day since 2002, an expert meteorologist has performed quality control with this algorithm to ensure the highest quality possible. We maintain an unparalleled archive of nearly 15 years of hail swath data and are making it available to you through the Historical Hazards API. Four request types providing various levels of detail: **EVENT SUMMARY** This is the entry point for the event portion of the API and returns the total number of days there was an analyzed event of any duration or size at a given location, proximity to a location, and a radius or region within a date range (the last 90 days by default). **LATEST EVENT** Returns the most recent event impacting a given location or proximity with a defined location and a radius or region within a date range (all available history by default). Event details include the ID, date, and maximum estimated. **EVENT HISTORY** Returns the history of specified events impacting a given location, or proximity to a location, and radius or region within a date range (the last 90 days by default). **EVENT VECTORS** Returns the vector geometry depicting events that impacted a given location, proximity to a particular location, and radius or region on a specified date. An empty feature collection is returned if there are no events. **Events to query include:** - Hail size polygons ("hail tracks") - Hail probability events - Maximum wind gust events - Wind gust duration - Lightning strikes - Storm reports (requests for proximity, region, category) - Tornadoes ("rotation tracks") `Historical Obs API `_ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Historical Observations API provides access to land-based meteorological observations globally. This database in- cludes over 35,000 stations worldwide, with some having data as far back as 1901. Today there are over 14,000 “active” stations updated daily in the database. Variables include: - ALTIMETER - CLOUD COVER - DEWPOINT - TEMPERATURE - TEMPERATURE (MAX & MIN) - VISIBILITY - PRECIPITATION (1 & 24 HR) - SNOW (1 & 24 HR) - SNOW DEPTH - SNOW EQUIVALENT - WIND DIRECTION - WIND GUST & SPEED - SEA LEVEL PRESSURE `Current and Forecast API `_ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gain access to our precision-verified 10-day forecasts with daily and hourly data, as well as current observations for any location on the planet. There is not a more complete weather data source than this API. Access over 14,000+ surface weather observations from around the globe for current weather conditions and 3-day hourly forecast, as well as daily forecasts out to 10-days. Variables include: - TEMPERATURE - DEWPOINT - APPARENT TEMP - REL. HUMIDITY - WEATHER CONDITION - POP - CLOUD COVER - SKY COVER VISIBILITY - WIND SPEED - WIND DIRECTION - WIND GUST - 80m HUB HT. WIND SPEED - 100m HUB HT WIND SPEED - PRESSURE - QPF - CDD DAYS - HDD DAYS - GDD DAYS SkyWise Weather Mapping Solutions ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **GIS MAP SERVICES, INTERACTIVE MAPS FOR MOBILE AND WEB** `Tiles v1 API `_ `Tiles v2 API `_ Utilizing patented techniques to extract raster and vector image tiles of various weather layers around the globe, we then overlay these tiles on an interactive map within milliseconds. The tiling system is unique in that it takes any of the weather layers listed below and updates the tiles globally as frequently as every 5 min. We’ve organized tiles in a manner that maximizes the end user’s experience by displaying relevant information at the correct zoom level. As users zoom, more localized information is available. Tiles are customizable for display on any mapping system, allowing for multiple layers to be viewed at the same time with custom transparency settings. The content within our tiling system includes proprietary layers that are not available from any other source. Forecast data, such as Future Radar and Insight API data, is available in SkyWise Map Tiles. For those with an existing ESRI solution who want to embed weather layers and content into ESRI maps and applications, we have built a service that meets your needs. Each of our SkyWise weather layers listed under the Platform Parameters page are available as ESRI map services (based on GeoTiffs). These can be easily integrated and displayed directly in the ESRI ArcGIS platform. Our SkyWise map services give you the capability to easily integrate and query our weather data in order to visualize historic, real-time, and forecast weather information within your mapping system.
